Alexia Urban Winery
Alexia is a fully operational urban winery and seasonal wine bar set on an industrial site on West Street, Greytown. Grapes in one door, wine out the other. We specialise in premium small batch wines, and have the good fortune to be able to access some amazing grape varieties not widely seen in New Zealand. Combining these grapes with an imaginative winemaking approach allows us to offer visitors to Alexia a delicious range of wine styles and expressions.
Alexia is also one of the very small handful of New Zealand Methode Traditionnelle producers who hand-make, bottle, age, riddle, and disgorge our sparkling wines 100% in house.
Our winery building is a transformer: from March - October we use every inch of our space to make our wines - the place is full of tanks, fermenters, pumps, hoses and grapes. From October - late February the tanks move out, we set up our kitchen, put the tables and chairs out and become a seasonal wine bar and cellar door.
We offer a small, but delicious menu and all our wines can be enjoyed on our covered terrace, or purchased to take home to drink later. We also regularly host pop-up events with special foodie guests throughout the year.
