Greytown is home to the happiest festival in New Zealand

the Festival of Christmas

In the depths of winter, whilst most people are staying inside watching Netflix, here in Greytown we’re donning our Christmas jumpers, gathering around the outdoor braziers and having some good old fashioned fun. Our mid-winter festival is a month-long celebration designed to bring friends and family together. Set to a backdrop of spectacular lighting, festive food, events, night markets, workshops, beautiful displays, live entertainment and even snow, it’s a place to get together and create special memories.

The joy and happiness that you can experience here during the month of July is simply contagious.

Our 2024 festival is now all wrapped up, and we’re setting our sights on 2025.

A huge thank you to our incredible supporters – from sponsors and grant funders, to local businesses, sports teams, charity groups and organisations – we simply couldn’t have done it without you. A huge thanks also to the 300 individuals who donated via Give A Little, to keep our festival free.

What are the dates for the 2025 festival?

The festival takes place for the month of July, so if you’re cautiously optimistic, you could pencil the dates in now. Once we have our funding secured for 2025, we’ll announce the dates. Want to help us get there? See below to donate.
